Our Reception programmes are carefully designed to secure strong early foundations in phonics, reading, writing and mathematics, building mastery in readiness for Year 1. Confidence is not formed through occasional input. It develops through steady, structured practice and thoughtful guidance. The more consistently a child engages with the programme, the more securely they embed core skills, entering Year 1 with fluency, independence and quiet assurance.
Structured, Sustained Progress.

Easter Preparation Programme – Establishing secure foundations
Summer Programme – Stage 1: Core Consolidation
Designed with a focus on phonics, reading and writing to build mastery skill in readiness for Year 1.
This programme builds secure foundations in phonics and early reading through grapheme–phoneme correspondence, oral blending and segmenting, and the recognition of high-frequency and tricky words, while developing reading fluency and early inference skills. Alongside this, children strengthen their writing through oral composition, sentence building, and the accurate use of basic punctuation. Fine motor development, letter formation, and rich vocabulary growth are carefully nurtured through structured talk, storytelling, and guided writing.

Summer Programme – Stage 2: Skill Deepening & Application
Designed with a focus on phonics, reading and writing to build mastery skill in readiness for Year 1.
This programme strengthens reading through fluent blending of more complex words, secure tricky word spelling and early inference skills. We also build greater independence in writing, helping children produce more detailed sentences with accurate punctuation. Fine motor control, letter formation and vocabulary are developed through structured talk, storytelling and guided writing.
Term Time - 5 Week Block

The focus is on building strong foundations in phonics, early reading and writing, helping children confidently link sounds to letters, blend and segment words, and begin composing simple sentences with accurate spelling and letter formation. Alongside this, children develop a secure understanding of early numbers through counting, subitising, exploring number bonds within 10 and beyond, and recognising and comparing numbers with confidence.
